Group Product Data Lead

Location: Zaandam (Hybrid)
Reports to: Group Digital Experience Manager
Team: Group Digital Experience Team

At Jumbo Group, our products spark imagination, creativity, and play all over the world. Behind every great Customer experience sits something less visible, but absolutely essential: high-quality data and content.

As Group Product Data Lead, you sit right at the heart of this. You are the connecting link between the business, our digital solutions and in the end, our customers; to unlock the power of play. You translate business ambition into structured product data, turn customer needs into better digital experiences, and ensure our systems, partners, and platforms all speak the same language.

This is a role for someone who enjoys bringing clarity to complexity, who likes to zoom out to see the full picture, and then zoom back in to fix what really matters.

You’ll work across brands, countries, and teams; partnering closely with Brand, Marketing, Product Development, E-commerce and IT, as well as with external solution providers and retail partners. Your work directly impacts how our products are discovered, understood, and chosen by customer online, in marketplaces, and through retailers.

Your impact

  • You are Group Product Data Lead, responsible for the quality, consistency, and usability of product data across the Jumbo Group.

  • You own and continuously improve our Product Information Management (PIM) landscape and support Digital Asset Management (DAM).

  • You ensure that data, content, and processes work together, rather than against each other.

  • You turn data into insights, and insights into actionable improvements.

In short: you help the organization make better decisions, faster, while creating better experiences for customer.

What you’ll be doing

1. Be the bridge

  • Act as the central link between business teams, Customer-facing channels, and digital tools.

  • Translate business and Customer needs into clear data structures, rules, and solutions.

  • Work with solution providers and internal teams to ensure systems truly support how people work.

2. Own product data quality

  • Take end-to-end responsibility for product data quality and related processes.

  • Identify issues early, challenge the status quo, and propose concrete improvements.

  • Establish and maintain standards, governance, and best practices for data usage and sharing.

3. Drive insight and improvement

  • Monitor data performance and quality through dashboards and reports.

  • Proactively share insights with stakeholders to improve content, efficiency, and relevance.

  • Spot patterns and bottlenecks and solve them with a pragmatic, analytical approach.

4. Enable the organization

  • Act as product owner for PIM and DAM as we continue rolling it out and optimising it across the group.

  • Train and support colleagues in the daily use of PIM, DAM, and related tools.

  • Evaluate new technologies, upgrades, and integrations that improve scalability and performance.

Key deliverables

  • High-quality, reliable product data across brands and markets

  • Clear data governance, rules, and processes

  • Insightful dashboards and reporting

  • Well-supported digital channels and retailer feeds

  • Successful PIM/DAM rollout and adoption across the group

  • Better alignment between teams, tools, and customer needs

Why this job is (not) for you

  • You enjoy working in an entrepreneurial organisation with many opportunities to grow the organisation and yourself.

  • You thrive in bringing structure to unclear situations. If you need established structure and guard rails to start with, this role might not be for you.

  • You like working with a diverse group of colleagues across different countries and don’t mind traveling to meet them.

  • If you prefer political games more than board games think twice before applying.

  • If you only like defining and steering processes without implementing and executing them, you might want to consider a more corporate organisation.

What you bring

Experience & education

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field.

  • 2–3 years of experience in Digital, E-commerce, Data or Content Management.

  • Strong understanding of data management principles (collection, quality, analysis, distribution).

  • Experience with PIM, DAM, CMS tools (Akeneo, Cloudinary, Productsup are a plus).

  • Professional fluency in English (French or Spanish is a plus).

Skills & mindset

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to connect dots across systems, teams, and Customer journeys.

  • Clear communicator who can explain complex topics in a simple way.

  • Structured, accurate, and calm; even under time pressure.

  • Curious, proactive, and continuously looking for better ways of working
